Explanation of responses
- F1Reflects receipt of shares under the SpartanNash Company 2001 Stock Bonus Plan. The reporting person elected to receive a portion of his annual bonus in the form of SpartanNash Common Stock rather than cash. Pursuant to the Plan, he received an additional grant of shares equal to 20% of the amount of the bonus that he elected to receive in the form of stock. As a condition to the receipt of these shares, the reporting person has agreed to refrain from transferring or selling these shares for at least two years.
