Explanation of responses
- F1In connection with the merger of BRE Retail Centers LP, an affiliate of The Blackstone Group L.P., with and into Excel Trust, L.P., and the Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of April 9, 2015, among Excel Trust, Inc., Excel Trust, L.P. and affiliates of The Blackstone Group L.P., the Reporting Person's units were converted into 5.50% Series C Cumulative Preferred Units of the surviving partnership in the merger, on a one-for-one basis.
- F2The operating partnership units reported herein are held by the Gary B. Sabin Family Trust dated May 20, 1982, for which the Reporting Person is the trustee. The Reporting Person disclaims beneficial ownership except to the extent of his pecuniary interest therein.
