Explanation of responses
- F1Each share of phantom stock entitled the reporting person to receive the cash value of one share of common stock. Arch Coal, Inc. has terminated a portion of its Deferred Compensation Plan (the "Plan") that is not subject to Code Section 409A. In accordance with this termination, the Plan terminated the accounts of each participant in that portion of the Plan and paid them a lump sum amount based on the value of their account on May 4, 2015.
